This hike will cover a section of the Pacific Crest Trail from the Cibbets Flat campground, down past Kitchen Creek Falls and ending back on Old Hwy. 80. Along the way we'll encounter many species of native plants and wildlife as well as some magnificent views of eastern San Diego County. This is an intermediate 7 mile hike with an elevation gain/loss of up to 1500 feet. 8 AMñ2 PM. (Buckman Springs) Take I-8 to Buckman Springs Rd. Turn right at the first stop sign (Buckman Springs Rd.) and left at the second stop sign (Old Hwy. 80). Proceed for 2 miles to the Pacific Crest Trail parking area on the right (just before the Forest Service campground). From here some cars will transport the group up to Cibbets Flat campground for the hike back down. A National Forest Adventure Pass is required to park. A $5 day use fee is required for any vehicles parking at the Cibbets Flat campground. Facilities. (GPS N32.732506, W116.483277) We are always hoping to see wildlife.
